Sin is a Big Deal ...

In today's society where people set their own standards and practice situational ethics it is important for Christians to realize that sin is real and that there are consequences involved. In it's broadest sense sin can be defined as rebellion against God. In making the case for Jesus, as the Saviour of the world, we must first establish the reality of sin as the basis for our need for salvation. "All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God."

Jesus is our one and only way to Salvation.

Scripture: Genesis 3:1-6, 16-19, 24 and Romans 5:12-14.

You can make the case for Jesus based on the fact that sin messes up life.

If your neighbors had to depend on you to find out about salvation, how much would they know?

William Owen will be teaching next Sunday on October 10th and Jimmy Summers will teach on October 24. Jane and Don will be out of town on these dates. We are thankful for these men stepping in to teach the class!

Birthday Night is next Monday, Oct. 11th at 6:30 at Munoz. Eve Gray or Brenda Bryant will be bringing the dessert.

Ladies' Luncheon will be Friday, October 15th at 11:30 at Bella at Lee Branch. Jane will send out an email this week since she will be out of town until the 12th.

Annual Bar-B-Q will be October 30th at Donny and Bonnie's. We've started collecting $10 per couple toward the meat so we'll know how many for the guys to cook for.

We are still collecting old eye glasses for the Birmingham Baptist Association to give out to the needy with food baskets at Thanksgiving.
