It's a new granddaughter in the Rogers family!!

Steve and Carol Rogers welcomed a new granddaughter on Friday, the 24th, when their daughter, Ashley, and her husband, Jason Lybrand, became the parents of a baby girl they have named Blair! The family also includes Blair's brothers Carter and Parker.

Another precious addition to our class family!

Please keep them in your prayers as Blair was born about 2 weeks early when Ashley developed BP issues. Blair was put in the NICU on oxygen. Grandmother Rogers says they should be fine and we are very thankful for that. God Bless this family!

Determine to Be Generous ...

Zo told us this morning that there is a need in the location she went to in Nicaragua for a child's wheelchair and for a used laptop. She mentioned that a group going back on a mission trip in July would be able to take the laptop but I don't know how the wheelchair would get there. Please let her know if you know of the availability of either. Don brought up that the class could help out on this.

Cultivate Contentment ...

Scripture: Philippians 4:10-20 and 1 Timothy 6:6-12

In Paul's first letter to Timothy he discussed Godliness and Contentment as great gain. By Godliness he meant leading a life that honored God and keeping His commandments. By Contentment he meant being satisfied with what God provides for us and not giving in to the temptation of greed. Contentment is an affirmation of our faith in God's ability and desire to provide for us.

Blessings at Shoal Creek

Once again to those of you who were at Sunday School Sunday and also to those of you who weren't - we thank you all for the hard work in preparing for and serving at Shoal Creek Valley. We had 26 members helping on Saturday and fed over 200. Ann, we all appreciate you taking charge and pulling everything and everyone together! We've heard only positive comments and that is a day we will all remember.

In the picture with Brenda and Pete and her parents is her cousin. Her husband is the Fire Chief and was in that damaged truck. He was caught in the tornado and thrown into the lake but got out and swam to safety.

Notice True Treasure ...

Scripture today was from Matthew 6:19-34

Defer to the Owner ...

Scripture: 1 Chronicles 29:10-20

Today we began a series of lessons concerning our attitudes toward possessions. Once we realize that we are only temporary residents of this earth and God owns everything throughout Eternity, our perspective becomes a Biblical one. We are stewards of the things that God intrusts to us and our responsibility is to give Him glory and praise through the use of our possessions.

Prayer requests:
Gerald and Brenda
Unspoken
